“Kasa" in Japanese means “Umbrellas."

The Japanese umbrellas in “Kasa" were used to envelope
the space and hopefully to evoke an air of Japan in Boulder.
The design is basically that of an “installation,"
a gesture very often used in Japanese settings of various occasions, as that of a tea ceremony in the outdoors where a special place is instantly created by use of a red carpet
(in place of the traditional “tatami," or straw mat ) along with
a special “Nodate Kasa."

I sincerely hope that customers in “Kasa" would “feel at home in Japan" without ever leaving Boulder.
